Why did we build Fetch?

Born from nostalgia in the COVID era.

During COVID, we rediscovered our love for TCGs when we uncovered a long-forgotten Charizard promo card that had skyrocketed in value. That spark reignited our passion for collecting—but we quickly realized how frustrating it was to track collections or find the cards we needed. So, we built Fetch TCG to make collecting simple, fun, and accessible for everyone.

During COVID, we got back into collecting and found it hard in this modern era to trade cards. With our tech backgrounds we decided to solve it.

Collection Tracker's Live. 🚀

We launched our mobile app on Android and iOS.

November 2023

The Market Place. 📈

Our initial iteration of the marketplace launched to all of NZ, with support for One Piece, DBS, Pokemon and many more.

January 2025

Australia. 🔥

Seeing NZ's success, we are preparing to launch support for Shopify and the lovely TCG hobbyists of Australia.

Our People.

At Fetch TCG, we live and breathe collectibles. Our journey started during COVID, when one of us unearthed a Charizard promo card from a 20th-anniversary Pokémon book bought in Japan—only to discover its value had soared to nearly $1,000. That discovery rekindled our childhood love for collecting, but it also exposed how clunky and outdated the tools for collectors were.

Why were we still using spreadsheets to track collections? Why was finding the right card so difficult? And why wasn’t there a dedicated marketplace in New Zealand? These questions drove us to create Fetch TCG—a platform built for collectors, by collectors. We’re passionate about making collecting more exciting and accessible for everyone in the TCG community.
